Classic Greek Salad

What's The Big Idea?

Classic, colourful, tasty and healthy - what more could you want? Oh, and simple to prepare too!

Shopping List

Here's the list of what you need:

  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges
  • 2 small cucumbers, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 150g feta cheese, crumbled or cubed
  • A handful black Greek olives, pitted if desired

What To Do

  • In salad bowl combine the tomatoes, cucumber and onion
  • Sprinkle with salt to taste and leave for a few minutes so that the salt can draw out the natural juices from the tomato and cucumber
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano and pepper to taste
  • Sprinkle the feta cheese and olives over the salad. Serve with crusty fresh bread
