Czech Pan Fried Trout with Dill Sauce:

What's The Big Idea?

This is a very simple dish of fried trout. Simple, tasty food! Great with boiled potatoes and green vegetables.

Shopping List

Here's the list of what you need:

  • 125ml sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon chives, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 trout, gutted, or trout fillets
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Lemon wedges to serve

What To Do

  • First prepare the sauce by mixing together the sour cream, chives, dill and lemon juice in a small bowl
  • Rinse the trout under cold water and pat dry
  • Mix together the salt, pepper and flour, and use this to coat the fish
  • Heat the oil and butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat
  • Add the trout to the pan and fry until brown. Turn over and brown the other side
  • Transfer the trout to plates and top with the dill sauce, and serve with lemon wedges
